Secure IT asset collection using our own trained staff (for security reasons we do not use sub contractors for assets where confidential data may be present).
All legally required compliance paperwork such as Duty of Care Waste Transfer Notes and Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes are supplied at the point of collection.
Our data destruction process and supplied certification complies with the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre, formerly CESG), HM Government (to HMG Infosec Standard 5), Corporate Grade and Military Grade tiers including US practices; we use Blancco data destruction software which is also compliant with the American Department Of Defence (DOD) data eradication standard 5220-22M.
We provide the following as a standard part of our service; full detailed Tracked Asset Reports, Certificates of Recycling and Certificates of Data Destruction.
All items which may contain data are put through our data destruction process, this is regardless of whether our clients state that they have removed the data themselves. This protects all parties involved in line with our data security policy and GDPR.
EOS’s core Asset Recovery Services are focussed on reusing assets collected and creating an environmentally sustainable disposal solution for anything unsuitable for reuse.
IT & Electrical recycling is carried out under WEEE directive and BATRRT guidelines.
We also operate a zero waste to landfill policy and work to reduce our carbon footprint where possible by using intelligent logistics.
The cost to physically collect ICT kit is actually minimal and we’re experts in what we do so know that there is sufficient residual value in redundant kit to ensure that we don’t need to charge for our services – where possible we are also happy to provide our customers with a share of the funds gained from remarketing. Please contact us for further information regarding our zero cost ICT recycling service.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment – the disposal and recycling of this is governed by an environmental law called the WEEE Directive which was created to ensure that recycling is environment-friendly and ethical.
This is done by regulating the electronics industry, waste created by a business and in particular recyclers of WEEE. By law recyclers of WEEE must be properly licensed and regulated to ensure compliance with the law – business users of electrical equipment which are unable to prove how they disposed of their WEEE may face substantial fines for non compliance.
It is therefore vital to use a fully-accredited recycler such as EOS who can provide full audit trail reporting to ensure legal compliance and to satisfy CSR requirements.
EOS is registered as a data controller with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) under the Data Protection Act 2018, replacing the Data Protection Act 1998.
In 2018 the European Parliament and Council updated EU citizens privacy laws to form General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), improving the security standards of personal data.
EOS is fully GDPR compliant. EOS will only use data for our own purposes, will only send out relevant information, will only retain data for the period required and ensure all data is up to date. All data is securely stored.
We are proud to be Konica Minolta's recommended recycling partner, as such we recycle all waste print consumables and components from Konica Minolta's machines in an environmentally friendly manner. Please contact us for further information.
We do however also recycle waste print consumables from all other machines such as Ricoh, Sharp, Canon, Brother, HP and Oki to name but a few. Again, please contact us for further information.
We provide all legally necessary compliance documentation for each collection such as Duty of Care Waste Transfer Notes. These are perfect for audit purposes; ideal to illustrate your compliance for ISO 14001.
We can also provide Certificates of Recycling, annual Waste Transfer Notes and reports on request.
The waste consumables are fully processed and recycled so that the materials can be used in the manufacture of other products – zero landfill, great for the environment!
Currently only 15% of toner bottles and cartridges are recycled. Which means at least 35 million are still ending up in landfill. It takes 1000 years for the plastics used in toner bottles to degrade.
That's 12 times our life time, shocking!
